The host will limit to only 25,000 audiences
The Mandalika Circuit is ready to host the WSBK event on 19-21 November. The number of live spectators allowed is only 25000 people, out of a total audience capacity of 195700.
Managing Director of Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) Bram Subiandoro stated that Mandalika Circuit was ready to hold WSBK in November 2021. He added that organizing the event will not be as complex as next year’s MotoGP when hundreds of thousands of fans might come. This was conveyed when he received a visit from House of Representatives members to the Mandalika Circuit last October 11.
During this pandemic, Mandalika Circuit will continue to carry out strict health protocols. Motorsport fans who come to the circuit during the event must show proof of the vaccine and negative rapid antigen results before being allowed to enter.
Bram added that ITDC had collaborated with local governments to involve local resources as a supporting workforce during the race. This is important so that all stakeholders are involved and feel the benefits of this event.
WSBK Mandalika will be the last race for the 2021 series, and the result will decisively conclude the WSBK World Champion. With four series remaining, the competition in the drivers’ standings is still very intense. Yamaha’s Toprak Razgatlioglu leads the way with 478 points, just 24 points clear of reigning champion Jonathan Rea of the Kawasaki team. In this series, Toprak has the opportunity to end Rea’s dominance, which has won the title in the last six years. No wonder this event will surely attract the attention of motorcycle racing enthusiasts.
After the WSBK event, the Mandalika Circuit will also host the next race event, namely the Idemitsu Asia Talent Cup, WSBK, MotoGP Pre Season until the 2022 MotoGP.
The combination of international sports events and nature tourism in Lombok is expected to be a new centre of attention globally.
